Pharmacological action of
decongestant – alpha-adrenomimetic
Acute respiratory infections with rhinitis (runny nose), acute allergic rhinitis, hay fever, sinusitis, eustachiitis, otitis media (to reduce swelling of the mucous membrane of the nasopharynx).
Preparing the patient for diagnostic procedures in the nasal passages.

Do not use during therapy with monoamine oxidase inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants (including the period of 14 days after their withdrawal).
Diabetes mellitus, prostate hyperplasia, coronary heart disease (angina pectoris), pheochromocytoma, hyperthyroidism, lactation with increased sensitivity to adrenergic drugs, accompanied by insomnia, dizziness, arrhythmia, tremor, high blood pressure.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
The use of the drug during pregnancy is contraindicated.
It is possible to use the drug during breastfeeding as prescribed by the attending physician if the expected therapeutic effect in the mother outweighs the risk of developing possible side effects in the baby.
Avoid contact with the eyes.
To avoid the spread of infection, you must use the drug individually.
Do not exceed recommended doses and use the drug for a long (more than 7 days) time. Long-term use of the drug can cause a rebound effect (drug rhinitis), the risk of reactive hyperemia and atrophy of the nasal mucosa increases.
Since the drug contains benzalkonium chloride as a preservative, especially with prolonged use (more than 7 days), swelling of the nasal mucosa can develop. If you suspect a similar reaction (nasal congestion), it is necessary, if possible, to use a drug that does not contain preservatives. If such drugs are not available, you must use a different dosage form.

Dosage and administration of
Intranasally (in each nasal passage).
Children aged 2 to 6 years: 1 injection of Xylometazoline – SOLOpharm, nasal spray dosed at 35 mcg / dose in each nasal passage should not be used more than 3 times a day.
If symptoms worsen or improvement does not occur within 3 days, consult a doctor. In the recommended dose, without consulting a doctor, use no more than 7 days.
Doses higher than recommended may only be used under medical supervision.
With frequent and prolonged use of the drug, a feeling of nasal congestion may reappear or worsen. If these symptoms appear, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.
A single injection of 70 μl contains 35 μg xylometazoline hydrochloride – for Xylometazolin-SOLOpharm, nasal spray dosed at 35 μg / dose.
With frequent and / or prolonged use – irritation and / or dryness of the nasopharyngeal mucosa, burning, tingling, sneezing, hypersecretion of the nasopharyngeal mucosa, hypersensitivity reactions, swelling of the nasal mucosa, palpitations, tachycardia, arrhythmia, increased blood pressure, headache, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, impaired vision, depression (with prolonged use of high doses).
If any of the side effects indicated in the instructions are aggravated or you notice any other side effects not listed in the instructions, inform your doctor.
Xylometazoline should not be used in patients receiving therapy with monoamine oxidase inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants (including the period of 14 days after their withdrawal) due to the possibility of increased blood pressure.
Symptoms: increased side effects (dose dependent), decreased body temperature, confusion.
In case of accidental ingestion, the drug can cause: severe dizziness, increased sweating, headache, bradycardia, increased blood pressure, respiratory depression, coma and convulsions.
A sharp decrease in blood pressure may occur after an increase in blood pressure.
