Constipation or cases requiring relief of bowel movements (hemorrhoids, proctitis, anal fissures, preparation for surgical interventions, instrumental and radiological examinations).
hypersensitivity to sodium picosulfate and other components of the drug
acute inflammatory bowel disease and acute diseases of the abdominal cavity (including acute appendicitis, ulcerative colitis, peritonitis, and srd) vomiting, which may indicate acute inflammatory diseases, severe dehydration
pregnancy (I trimester)
Precautions: elderly patients, hypokalemia, increased magnesium in the blood, patients with asthenia, II â III trimesters of pregnancy.
Like other laxatives, guttasil should not be taken daily for a long time. If necessary, daily use of laxatives should determine the cause of constipation. Long-term use of laxatives can lead to electrolyte imbalance and hypokalemia, as well as become addictive and constipation due to the effect of rebound.
Guttasil is effective in eliminating constipation in cancer patients receiving high doses of opioids.
The drug contains sorbitol, so it is not recommended to take it with patients with rare hereditary fructose intolerance.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and work with mechanisms. In therapeutic doses, the drug does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and work with other mechanisms.
1 ml contains:
Active ingredient: sodium picosulfate monohydrate (in terms of sodium picosulfate) 7.5 mg
Excipients: sorbitol – 460 mg sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate – 2 mg 1M solution of hydrochloric acid – up to pH 6 to 6 pH-6 water – 6 mg for injection – up to 1 ml.
From the skin: skin rash, urticaria, itching.
From the side of the water-electrolyte balance: loss of potassium, sodium and other electrolytes, dehydration may develop.
From the digestive system: dyspeptic symptoms, vomiting, nausea, cramping and abdominal pain, diarrhea, flatulence, pain in the stomach and anus, increased intestinal motility, which pass with a decrease in the dose of the drug.
On the part of the immune system: allergic reactions, angioedema.
From the side of the central nervous system: headache, fatigue, drowsiness, cramps.
Electrolyte imbalance may lead to decreased cardiac glycoside tolerance. Diuretics or corticosteroids can increase the severity of hypokalemia caused by the use of guttasil in high doses. Simultaneous treatment with antibiotics can reduce the laxative effect of the drug.
Symptoms: high doses of Guttasil can cause fluid stools, abdominal cramps and clinically significant abnormalities of water-electrolyte balance (hypokalemia, loss of other electrolytes and fluid), mucosal colonic mucosa. Prolonged overdose leads to the development of chronic diarrhea and abdominal pain, hypokalemia, secondary hyperaldosteronism, kidney damage and the development of nephrolithiasis, metabolic alkalosis, hypokalemia and muscle weakness as a result of hypokalemia.
Treatment: gastric lavage, appointment of enterosorbents (activated carbon), symptomatic treatment (correction of water-electrolyte balance, appointment of antispasmodics).
In a dark place at 15-25 ° C.
