Ointment for external use
Nystatin is a polyene antifungal antibiotic that is highly active against yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida. It has a fungicidal effect. In the structure of the antibiotic, there are a large number of double bonds with high tropism for sterol structures of the cytoplasmic membrane of fungi, which contributes to the incorporation of the drug molecule into the cell membrane and the formation of a large number of channels through which uncontrolled transport of electrolytes occurs. An increase in osmolarity inside the cell leads to its death.
Hypersensitivity, impaired liver function, pancreatitis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, pregnancy.
Active ingredient: nystatin 100000 IU
Excipients: lanolin anhydrous petroleum jelly.
Dosage and administration
Locally, apply the ointment in a thin layer to the affected areas of the skin and mucous membranes 1-2 times per day, daily for 7-10 days. Can be combined with oral administration.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sometimes fever, chills. There is a risk of the spread of resistant forms of fungi (requires discontinuation of the drug).
With the simultaneous use of nystatin with clotrimazole, the activity of the latter decreases.
In a dry, dark place, at a temperature not exceeding 5 ° C.
