OkomistinÐÂ®, eye drops, ear drops, nasal drops are recommended for the complex treatment of infectious processes of the anterior part of the eye (blepharitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis, keratouveitis), eye injuries, eye burns (thermal and chemical) for the treatment and prevention of purulent-inflammatory eye lesions.
Prevention of ophthalmia in newborns, including gonococcal and chlamydial.
The drug is used in the complex treatment of acute sinusitis / rhinosinusitis, exacerbation of chronic sinusitis / rhinosinusitis, acute rhinitis of acute and chronic external otitis media, chronic suppurative mesotympanitis, otomycosis.

Active ingredient: Benzyldimethyl [3- (myristoylamino) propyl] ammonium chloride monohydrate (in terms of anhydrous substance) – 0.01 g

Dosage and Administration
Locally. For therapeutic purposes, OkomistinÂ® is instilled in the conjunctival sac, 1-2 drops 4-6 times a day until clinical recovery.
For prophylactic purposes, the drug is instilled 2-3 days before surgery, and also within 10-15 days after surgery, 1-2 drops 3 times a day.
In the treatment of eye burns, after rinsing the eyes with plenty of water, frequent instillations (every 5-10 minutes) for 1-2 hours are performed. For further treatment, the drug is used 1-2 drops 4-6 times a day.
In pediatric practice, for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis in children aged 3 years and more, OkomistinÂ® is instilled into the conjunctival sac 1 drop up to 6 times a day for 7-10 days.
For the prevention of ophthalmia in newborns immediately after birth, a drop of the drug is instilled into the eye 1 drop in each eye 3 times with an interval of 2-3 minutes.
In acute sinusitis / rhinosinusitis, exacerbation of chronic sinusitis / rhinosinusitis, acute rhinitis, infections of the nasal mucosa, OkomistinÂ® is instilled 2-3 drops in each nostril, 4-6 times a day for children under 12 years old – 1-2 drops
in each nasal passage 4-6 times a day. The course of treatment is up to 14 days.
In acute and chronic otitis externa, otomycosis, the drug OkomistinÂ® is instilled into the external auditory canal 5 drops 4 times a day for children under 12 years old – 2-3 drops 4-6 times a day or, instead of instillation, gauze turunda moistened with the preparation is injected into the external auditory canal 4 times per day. The course of treatment is 10 days.
In chronic mesothympanitis, it is used in complex treatment using hardware-based ultrasonic irrigation or injection into the tympanic cavity together with antibiotics.
In the absence of positive dynamics (increased severity or the appearance of new signs / symptoms of the disease, the occurrence of complications) for 3-4 days of therapy using OkomistinÂ®, you must consult a doctor!
Allergic reactions possible. In some cases, you may experience a slight burning sensation, discomfort, which disappear on their own after 15-20 seconds and does not require discontinuation of the drug.
